Imagine a man spitting a goldfish into a wine glass.

I'm willing to bet someone can identify where this song got it's tiny bit of notoriety....

Imagine a man spitting a goldfish into a wine glass....but in reality it was filmed in reverse - so he was drinking it...

The song is called Theme For Kinetic Ritual by Stewart Copeland's side project Klark Kent.

Stop Me Before I Kill Again!

Near the end of the 1992 school year at Kent I randomly thought about a former TV personalty named Skip Stephenson. He was co-host of what was probably one of the first reality shows on tv: "Real People"

No one I know had brought him or the show up. I just spontaneously said:

"Remember Skip Stephenson?"

My roommates did and then chuckled. Someone asked me why I asked, and I had no reason, he just popped into my head.

I learned the next day that Skip Stephenson had died the previous day of a sudden heart attack.

That was pretty weird.

Well, I have killed again.

This weekend I was gearing up for walking the dog when a mental image of The Knack's first album "Get the Knack" popped into my head... I listened to it on my walk, good record...if you don't mind how misogynistic it is. I have not listened to it for a couple years...

I find out the next day that Doug Fieger, the singer for The Knack, died the previous day... very weird.

I'm glad this doesn't happen with more regularity, but it's still kinda freaky.

Here are two songs to commemorate, both of my apparent victims...

I can't believe I have a song that references Skip Stephenson, but here it is.

Good Girls Don't
by The Knack... I love the fact that radio, apparently, did not edit the lyrics to this song in 1979, when it reached #11..

The Flys and one of the best music blogs around!

The Flys were from Coventry,England and never really made it into the 1980's, releasing their two albums in the late 1970s. Very fun punky power/pop...just the way I like it.
Their drummer went on to be in After The Fire... you know them from "Der Kommissar".

There is almost no web presence for The Flys except for the coverage by a website called "the Post Punk Progressive Pop Party" a site that informs you of what was released on a certain day in the late 70s/early 80s... a terrific reference considering, as a bonus, it also links you to any blog that might have the music available for download.
